Reviews financial transactions, reports and processes for compliance with accounting standards, tax law and other appropriate regulation, as well as BSL by-laws. Skills desired are a financial, ideally audit, background. This committee meets infrequently.

Reviews the league's instruments of governance (the BSL Constitution and By-Laws) and proposes modifications according to the changing needs of the league.

Works with the Fields Director to plan and execute field maintenance and improvement activities. Concession planning is currently managed by the fields committee.Prepares the budget recommendation to the Executive Committee and assists the Treasurer in determining the appropriate financial procedures.

While also perpetuating the earlier days of the BSL, The Hall of Fame is very involved with the BSL's present and future. The HOF Committee welcomes BSL members in addition to members of the Hall of Fame to involve themselves in: 
  • Presenting League events annually
  • Archiving the League's important annual records, information, and milestones
  • Accumulating the League's important memoribilia annually
  • Accurately documenting the League's history for the future
  • Facilitating the uniting and re-uniting of the many generations of BSL members of the past, present, and future
  • Highlighting and promoting the important acheivements of the BSL and its members

This committee has a short timeframe objective with responsibility for recommending changes to the governing bodies of the BSL and adjustments to the Constitution and By-Laws that will enable the changes it recommends.

Helps the Membership Director with activities around increasing and strengthening membership.  These activities include coordinating the following events:

The Minuteman Classic committee plans and coordinates the activities around the annual softball tournament.  There are subcommittees for the following purposes:
  • Fields and Scheduling
  • Finance and Fundraising
  • Special Events and Banquet
  • Volunteer Coordination
  • Publicity and Web Support
  • Registration
NAGAAA/Ratings   CONTACT: Jim McNulty

The NAGAAA and Ratings Committee is headed by the BSL's NAGAAA Rep. Both committees combine whenever possible.
  • The Ratings portion focuses on assisting in the rating of players according to NAGAAA guidelines.
  • The NAGAAA portion focuses on providing information and stimulating ideas with BSL members about NAGAAA related issues that prepare BSL delegates for NAGAAA's two annual meetings focused on the National "NAGAAA World Series".
This combination is meant to make the BSL's long time membership in the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance the best it can be!.
Scheduling & Competition Committee   CONTACT: Rob Santiago

Builds the schedule of approximately 300 games as well as recommends procedures for handling rainouts and rescheduling. Reviews and recommends changes to the division structure, schedule structure as well as evaluates and explains all ASA rule changes. Members of this committee are typically managers/coaches but others may participate at the discretion of the Commissioner.
